Avoiding attorney malpractice and ethical grievance claims starts with ensuring that your attorneys are (1) able to bring their whole selves to work, and (2) provided with the tools necessary to ensure their emotional, mental, and physical wellness. This workshop will discuss ways to move your organization from good intentions to a concerted inclusivity and wellness initiative to attract and retain talented employees and help keep them out of professionalism trouble. This workshop will cover the following topics:
- Diversity & Ethics 101: Terminology, history, statistics, and the connection between diversity and professionalism generally.
- How to Assess Organizational Inclusiveness: Participants will learn why and how to assess the state of inclusivity in their organization as it pertains to diverse attorneys. Included in this discussion is how to make the “business case” for inclusive professionalism.
- Practical Toolkit to Remove Institutional Barriers: Learn strategies your organization can employ to attract and retain talented attorneys, including inclusive policies & systems, creating effective wellness programs, and utilizing mentoring and sponsorship programs to improve morale and reduce professionalism missteps.
